Gottegris
One of my favourite Swedish words: Gottegris. Translated word by word it means candy pig. But it can be interpreted as ‘someone who has a very sweet tooth’.

Argh. Argh. Aaargggghhhhh. Can you hear that? With every move I make my rusty bones make a cracking noise, stiffened by snow and the cold, wintery humidity. Even worse: my energy and lust for life seems to have been buried underneath the snow. And now the snow is gone, it’s nowhere to be found.
The most selfish Christmas presents I ever made? Vouchers for a cupcake decorating class for the sisters-in-law. Of course, I had to get one for myself, too. After all, it was about spending time together. Decorating culinary delights and stuffing our faces was just the icing on the cake.

‘Between the years’ is a German expression for the days in between Christmas and the New Year. It nicely describes the feeling of where I am at the moment. We are not completely over and done with Christmas, but neither are we in the midst of it. The same counts for the New Year. Time to sit back and reflect
